As new technologies and business practices emerge, how well equipped are organizations to quickly adapt to these new technologies and processes? Traditionally, employees of a company were sent to a standard training course designed for a general audience. The course possibly covered 70% of what they really needed to know and 30% of “that is nice, but I’m not ever going to use this”. Also, an employee takes a traditional training class, returns to work, but then doesn’t have the opportunity to apply their new found knowledge immediately. In both situations, time is lost, knowledge is not readily applied, and problem solving skills may or may not be addressed to provide a solution when the employee returns to work.

- Organizations face problems in their daily goals and requirements. When a problem arises, what skills do the employees possess to quickly react and solve those problems? Through education seminars and hands on activities, problem based skills are learned and applied to real world situations within their own organization. A company’s problems require unique solutions that may not be addressed in a traditional vendor course. At Kelsey Apple Consulting, a custom approach is taken to address the organization’s problems and determine possible solutions. Custom curriculum is also developed to meet an organization’s unique situation.
- Project Driven Education
- Organizations are tasked with new projects and initiatives to keep their organization competitive in today’s market. Some projects have a risk factor due to new processes or technologies that they need to utilize. Project Driven education allows employees to apply their new knowledge on their own project to effectively achieve the project’s goal. In a working session, a vision/scope document of the project is created, a project life cycle is defined and roles and guidelines are established. Standards are established and followed so that this may become a repeatable process for future projects.
